"Not great for an expensive Steak house. On Dec 22, 2025, I took my team out to Nick & Stef's for a Christmas dinner. We ordered the Stef's seafood tower, which was fresh and delicious. For the main course, everyone's steak came out ok but 2 of the 8 plates did not fair so well. One Filet mignon was asked to be cooked medium. It was a charred raw steak that was delivered. It was a thick piece but it had a grey band and was bloody red about 2 inches thick in the center. We sent it back and they refired it up. It came out perfect for him afterwards. I ordered an A5 New York Strip which is a tiny 3oz cube. It was delivered to the table after the Filet mignon was refired and served again so I waited a while but was excited to my A5. My medium rare A5 looked fantastic until I took a slice, it was red and marbled white on the inside. Absolutely cold to the touch like it came straight out of the fridge. I complained a 2nd time to our server about the steaks not being cooked properly and they apologized and took my plate. Again they refired the steak and brought the slice and the now 2oz cube back pretty much well done. The 2oz was a little bit more moist, I'd say medium-well. The server asked if that was ok, and I replied that they overcooked my A5. The server just stared at me with a smile before I said, "it's fine" being so annoyed. I wish I took pictures but I was too pissed and also didn't want to ruin the mood for the team since it was a Christmas dinner...so I just ate it. $94 for a 3oz well done strip loin. Good Job Chef! I typically do not write reviews but I feel like this is really unacceptable for a high end steak house. Someone just invited me to eat at Nick & Stef's in March which is what prompted me to write this review now. I'm still so bitter and I refused to ever go back but I will probably give it another go in March. They were horrible with 2 of the 8 dishes the night I visited but they have a 4.5 review from 1100 people."

Aside from the exquisite menu, the atmosphere of the steakhouse is truly captivating. The ambiance exudes sophistication and warmth, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. "What can I say? Nick + Stef's was the best steakhouse experience I've ever had. There are a lot of chain steakhouses that serve similar offering, but this restaurant knocks it out of the park. The vibe feels upscale but incredibly friendly. We had an reservations and were seated immediately. Our waiter was funny, friendly, and had good reservations. He asked us if we had plans later that night, and was able to get us in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The service was my favorite part of the experience. Then comes the food. The bread was fantastic. Think Fogo's bread, but lighter crispier, and so much more indulgent. We started off with the Wagyu to split and it was perfectly cooked for an A5. With it, you're paying for the quality of meat and you get it. The mains were next, we both got the dry aged Ribeyes, which were the best Ribeyes I've had. The quality of the dry aging is top tier and even when I was totally engorged and couldn't eat another bite, I went back for more. There was no way either of us was going to leave that restaurant with steak on the plate. Our sides were great too, we got the Mac and cheese and the potatoes gratin and they were just as indulgent. I really recommend the Mac and cheese. Very happy to have spent my birthday at Nick + Stef's, not sure if I'll come back SOON, but I will come back when there is something worth celebrating. Thanks to the staff and folks who totally made my birthday."
"Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening after an opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and made a reservation online in advance. It was listed as one of the best steakhouses in LA by the Food Network so we were excited to try it. Indoor and outdoor tables available. We got the diver scallops (2) to start - those were tender and flavorful. We also got the burrata which came with pomegranate arils and peaches. I enjoyed this as a light option. We got an order of the Szechuan string beans to split which weren’t spicy but had a nice flavor. Three of us split the Tomahawk which comfortably fed us. They gave us chimichurri sauce automatically but I believe you can change that if you want. The tomahawk was dry aged and beautifully cooked. My dad got the grass fed petit filet from Nebraska, which he enjoyed. They gave us Yorkshire puddings at the beginning in lieu of bread and I enjoyed how flaky and warm they were. We ended with the chocolate cake which took 20 minutes to prepare and came with vanilla ice cream on top. It was a tad dry around the edges and I wish there was more liquid chocolate enmeshed in the inside. Our waitress was friendly and came to check on us often. The restaurant manager also stopped by to say hi and check in. Our waiters were consistently refilled and service overall was on point."
"My friend and I had a wonderful meal here. We were waiting for a show, a few blocks away. The old-world style leather booths were so comfortable, and very roomy. The staff was friendly, and knowledgeable about food sensitivities. Our waitperson definitely had a way with words as he described each of the specials, if you are a foodie like we are, it was a fabulous way to start the evening. The restrooms were very clean. If wine is your thing, I am certain they'll have a bottle that will tempt your fancy, the walls are lined with many, many wine bottles. We both ordered their steak burger. This resturant is known for their steak. Their burger was AMAZING!! Mine was cooked medium-well. The meat had a wonderful taste and with the added artisan cheese blended through the it, I was delighted with the taste. On the side, they provided heirloom steak tomatoes, crispy bacon, spicy pickles and butter lettuce on a Brioche bun. My friend's burger was seared rare. She loved her meal as well. My fries were on the "well-done-crispy" side, and were absolutely delish. I thought the prices were a little high. However, the service was impeccable. The restaurant was quiet, and lovely, the food was beyond good. The Hostess will validate your parking if needed."
"Easily one of the best steakhouses in DTLA and neighboring areas. Set at the base just outside the Wells Fargo building (they offer complimentary valet parking in the Wells Fargo parking structure with first 3 hours of parking free if after 5pm) it’s really easy to find and quick to park and exit. The look inside is a sleek, almost modern, steakhouse with comfortable leather seats and brighter lighting than other steakhouses. Our server Jonathan was very attentive and did a great job. They have a lot of great options menu wise and before our meal came out they brought out a couple cheddar popovers and they were a great start to the meal and didn’t last long. For my starter I chose the Iceberg Wedge Salad, a personal favorite of mine, and it was very nice and just what I hoped for. For my entree I chose the 10oz Grand Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. All around a great meal and would be a good call for any occasion. It doesn’t have a view like some other steakhouses like LA Prime close by but the interiors and vibe inside almost make up for that. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone."
"Went for my birthday. Food was fantastic, we got the dry aged ribeye and NY strip. Mashed potatoes were unbelievable and loaded baked potato was good. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. Almost felt like we were an afterthought to our server. They did bring me a bday desert which was nice. The biggest let down though was the atmosphere. We went at 7:15 on a Saturday night. When we walked in it was really quiet and pretty empty. I think there was music in the background but you really couldn’t hear it. My wife and I were dressed up and we almost felt awkward as the couple next to us were in sports jerseys and ball caps. We debated leaving after sitting down as it felt completely dead inside, no vibe whatsoever. It got slightly better as our dinner went on and more people arrived. Just keep in mind, it’s in a deserted office complex on the weekend and you have to go through an office building to get to the restaurant. That mixed with very little ambiance inside kinda killed it for us. Food was great but not enough to overcome the lackluster feeling sitting there and paying $250 for our meal."
"All around bad experience. Had a reservation at 5:45 which is fairly early and expected to be seated in a booth in one of the main dining rooms. We were told the only booth available was in the bar area, not exactly a date night space. Also the restaurant was no where near full and a larger booth in the second almost empty dining room should have been offered. Bread came out cold with no butter or silverware. Steak Oscar came with crab and green beans not asparagus as is standard. Excuse was that they try to use seasonal produce..i have never heard of asparagus being seasonal. The sauce Is supposed to be either a hollandaise or béarnaise. What was served was melted butter. We were served a second order of scallops that we did not order and when we pointed it out to our server he said it was sent to the wrong table and carried it two tables down. Once a plate has been served to a table it should never be taken to another, it should have been remade. They did not charge us for the Oscar and did give us a free dessert but after the entire experience I would not recommend and will not be back."
"We were at Nick + Stef's for happy hour before heading to a performance at Ahmanson's, a 10 min walk from the theater. (Could have parked in the Wells Fargo building with validation, but chose to park at Ahmanson's and walk.) Great ambience and service. We had the Grilled Hangar Steak with Chimchurri sauce, Maitake Mushroom tempura, Shishito peppers and Deviled Eggs. The Steak was quite good, but Maitake Mushroom tempura was the best and we ordered more of that. Shishito peppers didn't appeal much. No surprises with the deviled eggs. Cocktails - Border Rose & Hope Street Margarita - were well balanced and whetted the appetite. Was it worth $150 for 3? Until recently, I'd have thought it a bit excessive for a happy hour, but considering the location, reputation, and the pleasant experience, I think it was fair value for the money. Would I return? Not very likely considering that there are many upscale bars & restaurants in the neighborhood to check out, but I am quite tempted to return for the Maitake Mushroom tempura."
"My second trip to Nick + Stefs and al I can say is that they're a true gem in the heart of DTLA. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is what you'd want for a date night or just to catch up with someone. If you've never visited this establishment, they have dry aged meat that's is displayed for guests to see and that's my go-to spot before ordering and steaks. While I don't remember much of the night since I'm writing this review 2 months too late but the food we ordered was solid and legit. Nothing disappointed me nor my friends throughout the entire night. Marlon was outstanding and truly catered to our table; he made sure everything was top notch and up to their restaurant standards. In addition, you will get free parking validation from the restaurant if you parked in that plaza's parking structure. You can't go wrong with free parking in DTLA because it's rare and hard to find. Do yourself a service and experience Nick + Stefs because you won't regret the quality of food they serve you."
